Cambridge -- In a surprise ceremony, Ms. Kris Ruzycki, Shift Supervisor of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Medical Facility Urgent Care Department, was presented the prestigious Above and Beyond Award in front of 22 of her colleagues. Ms. Ruzycki was originally nominated for a Patriot Award by one of her employees, Mr. Anthony Pasqualone, who is also a Colonel in the US Army Reserve. After reviewing the nomination, it was decided that her efforts in support of Mr. Pasqualone during a recent deployment to Iraq warranted the Above and Beyond consideration. 

Ms. Ruzycki, stated she was completely astounded by the honor and totally thrilled to be considered for the award but felt she was just doing her duty as a citizen and coworker of Mr. Pasqualone.

Program Support Specialist, David St Germain and Awards Director Roger Fortin represented the Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) at the ceremony.
