-- Massachusetts ESGR Ombudsman Director, Earl Bonett visited the
Hampden County Sheriff's Department and Correctional Facility in
Ludlow
on the morning of July 14th. The purpose of Mr. Bonett's visit was
to meet with Sheriff Michael J. Ashe who had offered to sign a
Statement of Support affirming his support for his officers who are
members of the Reserve Components. The department has over 200
employees and has 20 staff personnel who are members of the Guard
and Reserve. Currently, the Sheriff's Department has three of their
officers who were recalled and are serving on active duty. While
signing the Statement of Support, Sheriff Ashe remarked, "We
are proud of and have always supported our men and women who serve
in The Guard and Reserve".
