North Reading , MA – June 20, 2008.  

John W. Powers III, United States Postal Service District Manager for Massachusetts signed a Statement of Support in a ceremony attended by more than one hundred Postmasters and Managers from Massachusetts . Also in attendance were several postal employees, currently serving in the Guard or Reserve, who proudly wore their uniform for this special occasion. Earl Bonett, MA ESGR Ombudsman Director and a retired Postmaster himself, as well as John Pelose, Area Chair for Eastern MA were also present and represented the Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve at this impressive event.  

Mr. Powers strongly urged all of the Postmasters present, to join him in signing a Statement of Support. Mr. Bonett announced that there will be another signing in Springfield later this month which will include all the Postmasters and Managers from the Western part of the state.
