Governor Patrick of Massachusetts Signs Statement of Support

The Executive Office of the historic Massachusetts State House was the May 12th setting for a Statement of Support signing by Governor Deval Patrick.  Seated at his desk, Governor Patrick signed this important document affirming the Commonwealth’s support for its Citizen Soldier employees.  Attending the ceremony was Secretary of Public Safety Kevin Burke, The Adjutant General for Massachusetts MG Joseph Carter, BG Thomas Sellars, Acting ESGR State Chairman Thomas P. Boyle Jr., ESGR Area Chair John Pelose, and ESGR staff members Joseph Ryan and Ken Forchielli. After signing the Statement of Support, the document was placed in a frame and proudly displayed on Governor Patrick’s desk. Prior to the signing, Chairman Boyle presented the Governor with an ESGR lapel pin.

This noteworthy event continues a tradition that has seen the sitting governor sign on behalf of the Commonwealth and further demonstrates why Massachusetts is regarded as a national leader in supporting its National Guard and Reserve employees.

The signing ceremony was scheduled and coordinated with the assistance of Secretary Burke and MG Carter.
