Sixteen employers were given a tour of the Naval War College and the War College Museum by Rear Admiral (Ret) Roger Nolan, Director of the War College Foundation.   The luncheon at the Newport Officers Club was hosted by Commander Stephen Burke, Executive Officer of Naval Station Newport.  

“This is the right thing to do and the right time to do it because many employers are uncertain of and concerned about their responsibilities to employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve” said ESGR spokesman David St. Germain.  Briefings of this nature, answer employers’ questions relating to USERRA compliance and provide suggestions on how best to manage employees who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve.  

Employer Briefings and Luncheons are regularly scheduled across Massachusetts but this is the first such event intended for Massachusetts employers that was held at a military installation outside of the Commonwealth.  From all accounts, it was a huge success!
