Massachusetts Army National Guard Family Covenant Signing Ceremony

On February 21, 2008, the Massachusetts National Guard Family Programs held a Family Covenant Signing Ceremony at the Massachusetts State House. In the hall of flags, Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray, MG Joseph Carter, BG Thomas Sellars and Command CW5 Peter Georgenes signed the covenant on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts National Guard.

Prior to signing the covenant, the importance of all programs that collectively protect the service member, the service members family and his or her place in the community and job was noted. Those making prepared remarks included Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray and Secretary of Public Safety Kevin Burke for the Commonwealth, MG James Nuttall for the National Guard Bureau and MG Joseph Carter for the Massachusetts National Guard.

After the signing, Mrs. Maureen Serrecchia spoke of the MA National Guard Family Programs and publicly recognized members of her staff and volunteers that were present.
