The historic Town Hall of Amesbury , Massachusetts was the site of a triple Statement of Support (SOS) signing on October 16, 2007. Mayor Thacher Keezer, Fire Chief William Shute and Police Chief Michael Cronin all signed Statements.

There are four members of the Guard & Reserve employed by the Police & Fire Departments. One of these individuals, SFC Brian Moran an Army Reservist employed at the Amesbury Fire Department, was on hand at the signing and spoke of the wonderful support that the town had given him.

Also on hand were Lt. Col. Pat McNamara representing the 253d Combat Communications Group (ANG) and SSG Barton & SSG Martin of the Army National Guard at Haverhill . The event was covered by two local area newspapers. ESGR was represented by Program Support Specialist Dave St. Germain.

What was unique about this SOS signing was the fact that Mayor Keezer is the only serving elected head of a town or city government in Massachusetts who is also a member of the Guard and Reserve. Lt.
