Arlington, VA—Employer
Support of Guard and Reserves (ESGR), a U.S. Department of Defense agency
dedicated to gaining and maintaining active support from public and private
employers for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve, announced
today that The TJX Companies, Inc. signed the ESGR “5-Star” Statement of Support
signifying the Company’s pledge to support its employees active in the National
Guard and Reserve. TJX President and Chief Executive Officer, Carol Meyrowitz,
signed the Statement today at TJX’s Home Office in Framingham, Massachusetts
along with many TJX associates on hand for the ceremony.

like Home Depot, Sears and Wal-Mart in signing a “5-Star” Statement of Support,”

In addition to Ms.
Meyrowitz, Thomas F. Hall, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs,
and Dr. L. Gordon Sumner Jr., Executive Director, National Committee for
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, attended the signing at TJX. Medal of
Honor recipient Captain Thomas J. Hudner Jr. USN (Ret.), the past State Chair
for the Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
was also in attendance.

maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and

that are “Above and Beyond” what is required by the USERRA Law.
