On Wednesday, May 9th, The Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support
of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) spoke with members of the Massachusetts
Business Roundtable at their annual breakfast meeting. The event was hosted
by Charlie Jacobs, Executive Vice President of the Boston Bruins, at the
Legends Restaurant in TD Banknorth Garden. During the Chef’s signature
breakfast, members of the MA-ESGR committee met with senior executives from
fifty of the largest private employers in Massachusetts to explain what ESGR
was all about.
After the breakfast, MA ESGR State Chairman Ken Forchielli extended a
personal greeting from the MA ESGR and introduced Dr. Thomas Mulvaney who
explained the critical role and importance of employers in today’s reserve
force. Dr. Mulvaney provided those present with an information packet and
overview of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
law. Chief Executives and guests in attendance were encouraged to share this
material with their senior human resources managers and contact MA ESGR if
we may be of further assistance. Dr. Mulvaney encouraged senior executives
to take a Statement of Support packet with them and to sign and post the
statement in an appropriate location as a show of support for their
employees who also serve in the Guard and Reserve.
The photo shows Dr. Mulvaney during this presentation to members of the
Massachusetts Business Roundtable and their invited quests.
