Proudly dressed in his Army ACUs, LTC Charles Frost of the Army Reserve
spent his last day cleaning up his office and transferring unfinished work to
his fellow employees. LTC Frost works for Alcatel-Lucent of Westford, MA and is
preparing for duty in Iraq. As the day came to a close, LTC Frost had one
more thing to do before walking out the door for the last time until his return
in 18 months.
LTC Frost had requested recognition for his
immediate supervisor Jim Viehl and his department head Frank Polito in the form
of a Patriot Award through the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. At a
gathering of the company’s senior leadership, he presented the award to each of
them and thanked them all for their support while he serves our country.
Rick Bedell a member of the MA Committee for
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve was also on hand for the presentation
and took the opportunity to educate those gathered about the role the reserve
forces play in the makeup of our nation’s military as well as explaining ESGR’s
mission and the importance of employers’ support for those in uniform. Mr. Jay
Fahey, General Manager of Alcatel-Lucent gladly signed a Statement of Support
showing the commitment his company has to its reserve members.
