On January 23, 2007, the Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented its seven seals award to State Senator Stephen M. Brewer and State Representative Anthony J. Verga. Senator Brewer and Representative Verga are Chairmen of the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs. The awards are in recognition of all that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts legislature has done to support those that serve with it’s Welcome Home Warrior II bill.  

  The awards were presented during a legislative luncheon and speaker program co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers Association and Representative Robert A. DeLeo, Chairman House Ways and Means Committee.  Among those attending were Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray, William F. Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Thomas G. Kelley, Secretary, Department of Veterans Services, several members of the Massachusetts Senate and over half the members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Other guests included representatives from Massachusetts Veterans Organizations, Gold Star Mothers, Gold Star Wives and Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers.
