Carver Selectmen Sign
Statement of Support On November 28th, 2006 a Statement
of Support was accomplished by the Carver Board of Selectmen. A good-sized
group of town residents were on hand to witness Chairman Frank Muscato put

Winchester Hospital CEO Signs 5 Star Statement of Support
Dale Lodge, CEO of Winchester Hospital signed a 5 Star
Statement of Support in a ceremony that took place in May of this year. The
event, coordinated by ESGR members Dr. Thomas Mulvaney, Vice President for
Medical Affairs and Dr. Philip Steeves, a radiologist, was attended by
several staff members who are current or former members of the Guard and

Homecoming Ceremony for the 26th Aviation Regiment
On November 11th, a large homecoming ceremony was held at the Aviation
Maintenance Facility at Camp Edwards for 180 members of the 26th Aviation
Regiment, just returning from over a year in the Iraqi Theater. (full story) |

VA Boston Health Care System Receives Award The VA
Boston Health Care System was recognized for its support of Guard and
Reserve employees with the presentation of ESGR’s Above and Beyond Award in
a ceremony at the West Roxbury campus on November 8th. (full story) |

MSgt Sandland Receives Seven Seals Award On October
19, 2006, the Massachusetts Committee for ESGR presented a Seven-Seals Award
to MSgt Tim Sandland, 102d Communications Flight, Otis Air National Guard

Commonwealth of Massachusetts Receives Prestigious National Award
The 2006 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award
was presented to fifteen employers in ceremonies at the Reagan Center in
Washington, DC on September 21, 2006. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts was
one of only two states that were selected for this award which is the
highest national ESGR award that can be presented to an employer. (full story) |

Bedford On October 13, The Shawmut Diner of New Bedford, became the latest in a
constantly growing list of patriotic business and government organizations to

Statement of Support Signing at National Historic Landmark
Boston’s Union Oyster House, the oldest restaurant in
America, was the site of a Statement of Support signing on September 12,
2006. Owner Joseph A. Milano Jr. signed a 5 Star Statement of
Support in the Freedom Trail Room as members of the Military Order of the

Attleboro Fire Department signs Statement of Support
September 14, 2006 saw the signing of a Statement of
Support by the Chief of the Attleboro Fire Department, Chief Ron Churchill.
The Chief, a veteran and former Air National Guard member, was proud to sign
in honor of his three Guard & Reserve employees, two of whom were present,
the third is currently serving in Iraq as a firefighter with the Air

Holyoke Giants sign Statement of Support
The Boys of Summer will become the men of tomorrow.
Many will be serving in our armed forces around the world. The Holyoke
Giants baseball owner, Phillip Rosenfield, wanted to show the public he
supports our men and women in all the armed forces. While he has no one on
the team or his staff in the National Guard or Reserves he felt the need to

Barry Controls in Hopkinton, MA on July 13, 2006. MA ESGR State Chair Ken

ESGR Presents Awards to State Officials The Employer
Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) today presented the Pro Patria Award
at a State House ceremony recognizing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts'
support of its National Guard and Reserve service members. ESGR is an agency
within the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs that works
to generate support from public and private employers for the men and women

representatives took part in a Civic Leader Flight sponsored by the 439th
Airlift Wing at Westover Joint Forces Reserve Base, MA. The flight to Davis-Monthan
AFB, Arizona included a refueling of our C-5 Galaxy by a KC-10 tanker from
