Massamont Insurance Agency Receives "Above and Beyond Award"

Massamont Insurance Agency was recognized for its outstanding support of 1SG Gerry Davis with the presentation of the Above and Beyond Award to company president Van Schenck on October 5th. 1SG Davis previously submitted his employer for the Patriots Award but felt strongly that his company was deserving of a higher award. Awards Program Manager Joseph Ryan agreed and coordinated this special event in Massamont's Boston office.  (full story)

August 26, 2005: Governor Romney Receives Seven Seals Award

Governor Romney has been a staunch supporter of the Guard and Reserve during his tenure as governor. This support was formally acknowledged in a State House ceremony during which Governor Romney received the Seven Seals Award presented by MA ESGR State Chair Ken Forchielli. A Seven Seals Award is symbolic of the seven services that comprise the Reserve components and is intended for individuals whose initiative and support, over time, promotes the ESGR mission.  (full story)

Adjutant General Receives ESGR Award

The Adjutant General of the Massachusetts National Guard, Maj Gen George W. Keefe, was presented the prestigious Seven Seals Award in a ceremony at Joint Forces Headquarters in Milford, MA on April 21st.  Presenting the award on behalf of the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve were ESGR Program Coordinator CPT Christopher Dugre, Awards Coordinator Joseph Ryan, and State Chair Ken Forchielli.  (full story)

Massachusetts ESGR Attends Northeast Regional Conference

Senior leaders of the Massachusetts ESGR Committee attended the Northeast Regional Training Conference at West Point April 29 to May 30, 2005. There were several representatives from all the states within the NE Region in attendance. Both accommodations and conference areas were in the historic Hotel Thayer, a West Point landmark since 1926.   (full story)

Guardsmen and Reservists asked to nominate their employers for the 2005 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award

Arlington VA – The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that 2005 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award nominations will be accepted at the ESGR web site, www.esgr.mil, until midnight February 24, 2005.  (full story)
