Senior leaders of the Massachusetts ESGR Committee attended the Northeast
Regional Training Conference at West Point April 29 to May 30, 2005. There
were several representatives from all the states within the NE Region in
attendance. Both accommodations and conference areas were in the historic
Hotel Thayer, a West Point landmark since 1926. Numerous National ESGR
personnel conducted the conference including Chairman David Janes and
Executive Director Bob Hollingsworth. Among issues discussed were the 5-Star
Employer Outreach Program, changes to the way we do business involving the
www.esgr.org website, the Bosslift Program, and the re-engineered Military
Liaison program. The 2006 budget preparation process was also discussed
thoroughly as well as the USA Freedom Award. A lot of ground was covered in
the hi-tempo, give and take session throughout the course of the three days.
The Massachusetts Committee members were provided a tour of the West Point
Military Academy by a member of the Army staff which was enlightening and
also an education in itself.
